Aesthetic Fillings

Composite restorations that repair cavities while preserving the look of natural enamel.

Aesthetic fillings use modern composite materials in different shades to repair teeth affected by decay, small fractures or wear. The result blends in seamlessly with the natural enamel, both on front and back teeth.

This approach is minimally invasive. Only the damaged tissue is removed, and the composite is bonded to the remaining tooth structure with an adhesive protocol. There is no need for the metal alloys used in traditional fillings.

A typical session lasts between thirty and forty-five minutes per tooth, almost always in a single appointment. We use rubber dam isolation, magnification and layering techniques to obtain a precise color match and a durable, well-sealed result.

At DentalIA we choose high-quality composites and reserve direct restorations for cases where they offer the best mix of conservation, aesthetics and durability. When more tooth structure is missing, we discuss alternatives such as ceramic inlays.

Questions visitors often ask
Are composite fillings as strong as metal ones?+

Modern composites are highly durable and well suited to most clinical situations. For very large restorations on back teeth we sometimes recommend a ceramic onlay instead.

How long do they last?+

On average eight to ten years and often more, depending on size, position and your habits.

Will they stain?+

Quality composites are stain-resistant, although heavy coffee, tea or smoking can slightly affect the surface over time. Polishing can refresh the appearance.

Should I replace my old amalgam fillings?+

Not necessarily. We evaluate each filling on its merits. If it is intact and well-sealed, replacement is not always justified.
